Appointments

Please call 0191 388 3236 between 8:00am and 6:00pm any weekday to make a routine appointment. Most of our appointments with doctors are opened ‘on the day’, some nurse appointments can be booked online up to 4 weeks in advance for patients who need to plan their visit to the Surgery.

Telephone Appointments

We offer telephone appointments within normal surgery times, which can be booked in advance. These are for medical advice or for clinical information, such as test results or medication reviews, as these can often be discussed without the need for a face to face appointment. The doctor will ring you back, on a number of your choice (home, work or mobile).

Urgent Appointments

If you have a medical problem which must be dealt with the same day, telephone the above number as early as possible. If there are no routine appointments available you will be given a telephone appointment with either the On-Call doctor or our nurse Practitioner.

In either case a professional clinician will ring you back, to discuss the problem and agree appropriate treatment, which may be an urgent appointment in the Surgery.

If you feel the problem is a medical emergency please advise the receptionist who may put you through to the On-call doctor directly.

Extended Access Appointments

We also offer Extended Access appointments outside normal surgery times, which can be booked in advance. These are for routine medical matters and available as face to face or telephone appointments. They are provided via Chester le Street Primary Care Network and details can be found at their website.
